Highlights

DM a member when a word they follow gets mentioned

Each member keeps their own private list of keywords, and gets a DM the moment one is mentioned anywhere they can see — a personal alert system nobody else manages or sees the list for.

Turning it on or off

Every server chooses for itself — switch Highlights on or off from your dashboard, under Engagement. When it's off: members will stop receiving keyword alerts.

Setting it up

  1. 1

    Nothing for you to configure

This one is entirely self-service — members manage their own lists with /highlight add, list, and remove; there's no server-wide setup step.

  2. 2

Just confirm the module is on

If members report /highlight isn't available, that's the only thing to check on your end.

Limits that keep it usable

Every member has a cap on how many keywords they can track at once, and a per-keyword cooldown stops the same match from DMing them repeatedly in a fast-moving conversation about that exact topic.

Commands

Tips & things people get wrong

  • Hez never highlights a member on their own messages, and never on a channel they can't see — a keyword match in a private channel a member lacks access to stays silent for them.
  • If a member's DMs are closed to the server, they simply won't receive highlight alerts — there's no in-server fallback for that case.
