Terms of Service

By adding Hez to a Discord server or using the Hez dashboard, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are adding Hez on behalf of a community or organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that community to these terms.

If you do not agree, please remove Hez from your server and stop using the dashboard.

To use Hez you must:

• Meet Discord's minimum age requirement (13 years old in most countries; higher where local law requires).
• Comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
• Have the necessary Discord permissions to add bots to any server where you invite Hez.

Hez is here to make Discord communities better. You may not use it to:

• Break the law— use Hez in connection with any illegal activity or to violate anyone's legal rights.
• Harass or dox — target, intimidate, or expose private information about individuals.
• Spread malware or spam — use Hez as a vector for phishing, malicious links, or unsolicited mass messaging.
• Disrupt the service— attempt to overload, reverse-engineer, or tamper with Hez's infrastructure or source code.
• Resell access— offer Hez's features as your own product or charge third parties for access.
• Abuse rate limits — deliberately flood commands or API calls in ways that degrade the experience for other servers.

Hez offers an optional Premium plan with additional features. The following terms apply to Premium subscribers:

The free plan is free forever. We will never put features that were previously free behind a paywall without advance notice.

We aim to keep Hez running reliably and work hard to minimise downtime. That said:

• We make no guarantee of 100% uptime. Maintenance windows, Discord outages, and unexpected issues can all affect availability.
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We'll try to give reasonable advance notice for significant changes.
• Hez operates on Discord's platform and is subject to Discord's own availability, API limits, and policy changes — factors outside our control.

The Hez name, logo, bot code, dashboard design, and all associated creative work are owned by the Hez team. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from them without written permission.

Configuration you create within Hez — welcome message text, embed templates, custom automod rules — remains yours. By using Hez, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and process that configuration solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

Hez is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

In particular, Hez's moderation tools (automod, anti-raid, logging) are assistive, not infallible. We do not guarantee that Hez will catch every instance of prohibited content or behaviour in your server. Server owners remain responsible for their communities.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Hez team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of revenue, or reputational harm — arising out of your use of or inability to use Hez.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising out of these terms or your use of Hez will not exceed the greater of: (a) the total fees you paid to us in the three months immediately preceding the claim, or (b) €50.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

• By you — you can stop using Hez and remove it from your server at any time, with no penalty.
• By us — we may suspend or terminate your access to Hez if you breach these terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.
• Effect — on termination, sections covering intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law survive and remain in effect.
• Data— following termination, your server's data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. For material changes, we'll post an announcement in our support server.

Continued use of Hez after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
