Utility
Handy extras — lookups, bookmarks and timestamps
A handful of small, genuinely everyday conveniences: info lookups, bringing back a deleted message, bookmarking, and a timestamp generator — the toolbox commands that don't belong to any bigger module.
Turning it on or off
Every server chooses for itself — switch Utility on or off from your dashboard, under Messages & Automation.
Setting it up
- 1
Nothing required for the info commands or bookmarking
They work immediately once the module is on.
- 2
Set snipe retention and, if needed, restrict who can use it
The default retention is short; extend it if your team wants a longer window to review what was deleted.
Info lookups
/utility userinfo, serverinfo, roleinfo, channelinfo, and avatar all pull up a quick reference embed — join dates, permissions, member counts, whatever's relevant to what you looked up.
Snipe
Brings back the content of a recently deleted message, within a retention window you control from /utility-settings. Because this surfaces something a member may have deleted deliberately, you can also restrict who's allowed to use it at all with a snipe-permitted roles list.
Bookmarking and timestamps
Right-click any message and "Bookmark Message" saves it privately to yourself via DM — a personal reading-list feature, not visible to anyone else. /utility timestamp generates a Discord timestamp that displays correctly in everyone's own timezone, for scheduling and event announcements.
Commands
Tips & things people get wrong
- Snipe showing deleted content is exactly why it's worth restricting to a trusted role on any server where message privacy matters — it's not limited to messages the poster would want recovered.
- The timestamp command is the easiest way to announce an event time without everyone doing their own timezone math — paste the generated code straight into any message.
