Logging

Keep a record of edits, deletions, joins and leaves

Logging is the read-only half of keeping a record — every event type below can go to its own channel with its own colour, independently of every other type. (If you want an undo button rather than just a record, that's Server Settings → Audit Logs, which is separate and covers dashboard changes specifically.)

Turning it on or off

Every server chooses for itself — switch Logging on or off from your dashboard, under Moderation & Safety. When it's off: nothing new will be recorded. Logs already written are kept.

Setting it up

  1. 1

    Turn logging on

The module-wide switch reads from Server Settings rather than a per-module toggle like most others.

  2. 2

Route the categories you care about

You don't need one channel per type — group related ones together (all member events in one channel, all moderation signals in another) and leave the rest unset.

  3. 3

    Keep log channels staff-only

Message-edit and message-delete logs in particular can surface things a member deleted on purpose — treat them as private.

Event categories

There are more than 40 individual event types; here they are grouped by what they cover. Each one is its own toggle — you don't have to take all-or-nothing per category.

Server & structure

Server settings changes, channels created/updated/deleted, permission overwrites, roles created/updated/deleted, invites, webhooks, emoji and stickers.

Members

Joins, leaves, kicks, prunes, bans and unbans, timeouts, other punishments, nickname/profile updates, and role changes on a member.

Voice activity

Joining, leaving, being moved between channels, server mute/deafen, and starting a stream or camera.

Messages

Edits, single deletes, bulk deletes, and pins.

Moderation & safety signals

Punishments issued by moderation commands, Anti-Nuke alerts, Webhook Audit alerts, Join Gate blocks, and Alt-Account flags — plus every auto-moderation hit.

Community & support

Tickets opening/closing/being claimed/breaching SLA, modmail threads opening and closing, giveaways ending/rerolling/being cancelled, member reports, suggestion decisions, form submission decisions, and level XP adjustments or profile resets.

Onboarding

Welcome and goodbye messages, member verified, and verification started/failed.

Dashboard

Every settings change made from the dashboard itself — its own event type, separate from the members/server categories above.

Commands

No dedicated slash commands — everything for Logging is set up on the dashboard.

Tips & things people get wrong

  • Splitting join/leave noise into its own channel from moderation logs keeps the signal-to-noise ratio usable once your server has any real traffic.
  • The dashboard_config_change event is worth its own channel the moment you have more than one admin — it's the only place that shows who changed a setting, versus what the setting is now.
