Temp Channels
Members create their own voice rooms on demand
Members create their own voice rooms instead of asking staff for one — join a designated trigger channel and Hez instantly builds a fresh room and moves them into it, which deletes itself the moment the last person leaves.
Turning it on or off
Every server chooses for itself — switch Temp Channels on or off from your dashboard, under Voice & Insights. When it's off: members can no longer create their own voice rooms.
Setting it up
- 1
Create a trigger channel
The voice channel members join to spawn their own room —
/tempchannel set. - 2
Decide on private rooms and the default
Whether locking is allowed at all, and whether new rooms start locked or open.
- 3
Set per-user and per-server caps
Stops one very active member (or a raid) from spinning up dozens of empty rooms.
- 4
Add a waiting room if you allow locking
Gives kicked members and latecomers somewhere to sit rather than nowhere.
- 5
Add staff bypass roles
Lets your moderators join or manage any temp channel regardless of its lock state.
The owner's control panel
Whoever created a room gets an interactive control panel to run it: set a user limit (0–99, or unlimited), lock or unlock the room to outsiders, and kick a specific member out. Locking only works if private rooms are allowed on your server at all.
Limits and defaults
You can cap how many rooms one member can have open at once, and how many temp channels can exist across the whole server simultaneously. Rooms can default to private or public, and a waiting-room channel gives kicked or excluded members somewhere to land instead of being dropped with nowhere to go.
Remembering preferences
If enabled, Hez remembers a member's last settings (limit, locked state) and applies them automatically the next time they create a new room — so a regular host doesn't have to reconfigure the same room every single time.
Commands
Tips & things people get wrong
/tempchannel commandcentergives an owner the same control panel again if they've lost track of the original message.- A room deleting itself the moment it's empty is automatic and immediate — there's no grace period, so don't rely on it staying around after everyone leaves.
