Giveaways
Run prize draws with one-click entry
Giveaways run themselves once you've set them up: members enter with a single click, Hez picks the winner at the close time, and you keep full control to pause, end early, or reroll if a winner doesn't claim their prize.
Turning it on or off
Every server chooses for itself — switch Giveaways on or off from your dashboard, under Engagement. When it's off: running giveaways will not end or announce winners.
Setting it up
- 1
Create with `/giveaway create`
Set the prize, duration, number of winners, and any entry requirements in one modal.
- 2
Pick a channel members actually watch
A giveaway posted somewhere quiet gets fewer genuine entries, not more fairness.
- 3
Decide your reroll policy ahead of time
Know how long you'll wait for a winner to respond before rerolling, so it's a rule you apply consistently rather than a judgment call each time.
Entry requirements
A giveaway can require a specific role to enter and/or a minimum account age in days, filtering out throwaway accounts created just to win. Both are optional — the default is open entry.
Managing a running giveaway
/giveaway list shows everything currently active. /giveaway pause and resume freeze entries without ending it, /giveaway end closes it immediately and picks winners early, and /giveaway reroll draws a fresh winner from the same entrant pool — the standard move when a winner goes unresponsive. /giveaway delete removes one outright, including cancelling it before it ever draws.

Tips & things people get wrong
- The draw happens server-side, not something a member or even a moderator can influence after the fact — that's what makes rerolling for an unresponsive winner fair rather than suspicious.
- A minimum account age is the simplest way to cut down on alt-account entries without adding any friction for real members.
